- ".com" & ".biz" for commercial organisations
- ".asn" for clubs and associations

There are other flavours of domain suffix in addition to those listed
above. Each domain name has different restrictions and the regulations
are frequently changing. For ".com.au" and other ".au" sites you must
demonstrate a connection between the domain name and (usually) your
business. Specifically:
- Domain name is an Exact Match Abbreviation or Acronym of your Entity or Trading Name.
- Close and substantial connection between the domain name and the operations of your Entity.
For example, if you have the business name "Foo Bar Dog Trainers"
registered then you'll be able to register the domain "foobar.com.au"
or "fbdt.com.au". You'll need to be able to prove your connection to
the domain - an ABN or ACN in your business name is usually enough. For
".com" domain there are no strict rules so let your imagination run
wild!
